Our love for West Side Paso Robles Syrah shines in the 2020 99 Steps. Sourced from Fulldraw Vineyard, this 100% Syrah aged 18 months in 50% new French oak. The nose blends earthy, charred, and sweet notes of scorched earth, coffee, black cherry, and violet, with hints of spice like allspice and cumin. On the palate, black pepper, boysenberry, and pomegranate add brightness, while concentrated tannins and flavors of cocoa lead to a long, smoky finish reminiscent of seared filet mignon.

The name "99 Steps" was born during our first vintage in 2017, when Winemaker Drew Nenow would count his steps walking up to our Syrah block. The number always landed on 99—a reminder of how far we’ve come and how much of our family winery’s story is still left to be written.
