Near and dear to my heart, this wine was manifested as a love letter and wholehearted thank you to my wife, Andie. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found a partner who is so full of patience and love, and this dream that is Nenow Family Wines would not be possible without her. Building the winery up from the ground has taken an extraordinary amount of time and effort, all while growing a young family, and she has always been the key to keeping both spirits up at work and at home. Andie has always had a love for Zinfandel, harkening back to my days working for Turley Wine Cellars, so we made an exception to our usual Rhone focus to make a wine just for her; To express all the gratitude that is due to someone who does so much, but asks for so little.  

The ultimate expression of the 2019 vintage, this Zinfandel/Petite Sirah blend is loaded with concentrated aromas and flavors that strike the palate in a way only California can do. Sweet and savory blueberry compote and bloody, seared steak jump out first with rigid notes of graphite that present in a series of complex layers. A herbal and floral side of lavender bloom, juniper berry, and bay leaf is sweetened by sweet and dry cranberry. The entry is soft and delicate with flavors of rose water and red velvet cake along with concentrated pomegranate juice. A sweeter side of salted caramel and coco coincide with notes of worn leather and dried figs as you move into the mid-palate, where a medium to light body and silky, linear tannins take hold. The palate is outlined by a lively jolt of moderate acidity and cranberry with a touch of hot paprika. Finishes with sweet sun dried tomatoes and a lingering tinge of tart acidity.
